U.S. History and Government

Students taking this course will study the foundations American Government through the Constitution,  as well as the major eras of U.S. History.  Concentration in this course will be on concepts and major historical ideas. Major topics will include; Colonialism, the Federalist Era, Sectionalism, the Civil War and Reconstruction, Industrialization, Imperialism, Progressivism, the Great Depression and the New Deal, World War Two, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Era, Watergate and the 1970's as well as major events from the past 40 years.
