About This Course

 

This course is a review of theoretical and empirical developments in the sociology of law. The important goal of this course is to demonstrate how sociologists approach law. The course will explore classical theoretical contributions to the sociology of law and modern sociological perspectives on empirical themes such as law and economy, law and politics, law and culture, law enforcement, and globalization and law. In addition, through case-studies, we will be engaged in explicating various social issues related to law in a post-Soviet society like Armenia.
