Module 2: Teachers Without Borders Peace Education Program
This is the self-paced version of the course and is available for free. The instructor-led version is available for a fee of $100. Please click here to learn more about the instructor-led course.
As discussed in the Definitions section in Module 1, the field of peace education is hard to define and encompasses many other fields. In this unit, we will explore some of the main fields that fall under the umbrella of peace education. Each section will explore the key theories, knowledge, values, and skills needed for the promotion of that field, and will include one example of a classroom lesson. The lessons are here to serve as a practical guide on how to implement peace education principles, as well as to help get your creative ideas flowing about how you can design your own lessons for your context. As peace education is by nature highly contextual and should deal with the reality of your students, it is important that you develop the confidence and the skills required to adapt existing lessons and create your own. Module 3 will address the practical applications of peace education in greater depth.
