

International Certificate of Teaching Mastery: Education for the New Millennium (Course 1)
This course provides an introduction to educational theories and approaches to learning and instruction, and offers opportunities to reflect on how to apply them in the classroom. It covers aspects of effective teaching and contemporary issues in education, and explores key theories relating to cognition and inclusive, discovery-oriented, culturally-attuned, and globally-aware teaching.
Course Objectives:
1. To examine aspects of effective teaching and discuss their practical applications.
2. To help participants explore and apply inquiry-based learning.
3. To discuss the work of key educational theorists (Piaget, Erikson, Vygotsky, and others) and its application in classroom settings.
4. To foster a strong understanding of Constructivism and its impact on teaching and learning.
5. To enhance understanding of how learning styles, Right Brain/Left Brain thinking theory, metacognition, experiential learning, and social cognition can guide curriculum development and improve student learning.
6. To explore the applications of the Multiple Intelligences theory in the classroom
