About This Course

An outgrowth of Santus Institute's own Pastoral Care program we offer a "Real World" class in Domestic VIolence based on years of experience at the state and local level including the Interfaith-Spiritual level at which churches can impact the lives of parishioners impacted by Domestic Violence of all forms. For whether or not it be emotional or physical it's all one. Violence that can not be wished away or prayed away.

Our principal source is from Dr. Carolann Petereson an Adjunct Professor at USC in California and creator of our Manual for Clegy and Domestic Violence.

We have a host of other materials for use along with videos.

The Chancellor of the Institute, Fr. Jim Waters, PhD and Dr. Peterson both took the US Department of Justice then Dept. of Homeland Security Federal week long course as trainors in Domestic Violence. The course was held at the Phoenix, Az. Police Academy in a week long intense course that featured hands on first hand teaching from a variety of professionals and lawenforcement people from around the nation. Fr. Jim then took a special course from the Faith Trust Institute form Seattle, WA. focusing on Domestic Violnce for Clergy and pastors.
